Cookie Policy

What cookies we use and how to manage them — Effective 8 April 2026

YeboPro uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform working, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the site. This page explains exactly what we use and why — and how to turn things off if you prefer.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and give site owners basic analytics information.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage for platform functionality. When we say "cookies" in this policy, we mean all of these technologies collectively.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies — Always On

These are required for the platform to function. You cannot opt out of these while using YeboPro.

  • Session authentication — keeps you logged in while you use the platform.
  • Security tokens — protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.
  • Cookie consent preference — remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask every time.

Functional Cookies — On by Default

These improve your experience but are not strictly required.

  • Region and category preferences — remembers your last selected service area and trade category.
  • Onboarding progress — saves your place in the Pro onboarding flow if you navigate away.

Analytics Cookies — Optional

These help us understand how the platform is being used so we can improve it. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.

  • Page view tracking — which pages are visited and how often.
  • User flow analysis — how people move through the platform (e.g. from job posting to Pro match).
  • Error tracking — identifying technical issues affecting users.

Marketing Cookies — Optional

We do not currently run retargeting advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and request fresh consent before placing any marketing cookies.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies. These are governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — authentication and session management.
  • Vercel — performance and edge caching.
  • Payment provider — payment processing (cookies active only during checkout flow).

YeboPro does not control third-party cookies and is not responsible for how those providers use them.

4. How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit YeboPro, a cookie consent banner appears. You can accept all cookies ("Yebo, all good") or accept only essential cookies ("Just the basics").

You can re-open the consent banner and change your choice at any time using the button below:

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete cookies that have been set.
  • Block cookies from specific websites.
  • Block all third-party cookies.
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being placed.

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.

5. Your Rights Under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to know what personal information is being collected about you and to object to its processing for direct marketing purposes. Our use of optional cookies is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the Manage cookie preferences button in section 4 above.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated via an updated consent banner. The current version is always available at www.yebopro.co.za/legal/cookies.
